Care That Sees the Whole Person
Culturally responsive home support, shaped by lived caregiving experience. We begin with the person: their story, language, faith, relationships, and the everyday routines that matter to them.
Our Story
In 2011, our founder's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. What followed were years of trying to arrange care that could actually be counted on: caregivers who cancelled at the last minute, respite care that fell through without warning, and uncertainty about whether reliable caregivers would remain available.
Some days that meant missing work to make sure her mother was safe. Other days meant being at work and carrying the worry anyway, wondering whether the caregiver would arrive or whether something might go wrong. Watching her mother's abilities change was difficult enough without the additional struggle of finding dependable care.
But those years also taught our founder something that shaped Careweave's philosophy: a person is always more than a diagnosis. Her mother had a history, relationships, preferences, traditions, and a lifetime of experiences that mattered just as much as her care needs.
Her mother passed away in February 2026. After fourteen years of caregiving, our founder understood both the exhaustion families can experience and the importance of meaningful human connection. Those experiences became the foundation of Careweave Home Support Inc.
We believe families deserve dependable support that respects the whole person, not simply a service arranged on a schedule. Care should honour each individual's dignity, independence, culture, identity, and everyday choices.
This philosophy is also reflected in the podcast My Mother the Person and the Patient , which explores the person behind the diagnosis and the experiences of family caregiving.
We also recognize that caregiving affects the entire family. Family caregivers need opportunities to rest, be heard, and receive practical support. That is why Careweave considers the needs of both the person receiving care and the people who care about them.
